Heather Jo Lyngholm, age 37, of DeWitt, Iowa died Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012, following complications related to cerebral palsy.
Heather was born July 4th 1974, in Davenport, Iowa to Steve and Feriba (Long) Lyngholm. Heather grew up in rural DeWitt, Iowa. The Lyngholm family moved to Destin, Florida in 1990 and Heather graduated from high school in 1992. She attended Scott Community College and studied medical transcription.
Heather’s joy, laughter, and positive zeal for life were evident from a very early age. She loved cats, the outdoors, and traveling. Heather never allowed her disability to prevent her from living a very active and full life. Despite the many health trials she faced, Heather always had a smile on her face and her positivity was contagious. Heather was deeply loyal to her family and friends. She showed her love for them by her actions. Heather had the special ability to be everyone’s best friend.
On November 11, 1988, at the age of 14, Heather was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. For the past 24 years she was faithful to her dedication. Heather looked forward to the Bible’s promise of being in perfect health in a paradise earth, and she shared this hope with others. Heather was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in DeWitt, Iowa.
For a time, Heather was married to Chris Corrice. They have a son, Maxwell Theodore. Max was Heather’s greatest love. Together they shared countless moments of laughter and enjoyed a common interest of Apple computer technology. They enjoyed crafting and taking silly photos. No one made Heather laugh more than her beloved Max.
Heather is survived by her son Maxwell, her father Steve Lyngholm of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, her mother Feriba (Paul) Grimes of Newton, Alabama, sisters Steffanie (Tim) Frazier of Round Rock, Texas, and Christina (Wade) Menning of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, a brother Joseph Lyngholm of Newton, Alabama, a grandmother Joan Lyngholm of Davenport, Iowa, nieces, a nephew, and many relatives and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, in the Funeral Home. Monty Arringdale will officiate.
