Allan Mathias Banowetz was born on April 17, 1955, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Paul and Marcella “Sally” (Kilburg) Banowetz, number 6 of 15 children. Allan graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt, class of 1973. In 1974 he married Roxie Brown, together they had 4 children, Stacy, Michael, Paula, and Susan. They later divorced. He attended Scott Community College, receiving degrees in Automated Manufacturing Technology and Electronic Engineering Technology. After retirement Chub made his home in the country outside Preston. An avid outdoorsman, he spent his time with his grandkids and family fishing, hunting, and boating the Mississippi. Chub was often seen riding one of his many Harleys, frequently for charity rides, or cruising with friends in his yellow Mustang. He traveled to numerous states on those Harleys and deeply enjoyed rides with his siblings. Chub was an avid Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer fan.
Chub’s greatest joy was his family.
