Jeannette and JJ Erickson
have been with Schultz Funeral Homes for over a decade. Both are licensed Funeral
Directors, Embalmers, and Restorative professionals.
Upon graduation from Worsham
College of Mortuary Science in 2002, Jay received training as an embalmer and
funeral director from Doug Schultz. After working as a mortician in Jackson and Muscatine counties, Jay returned to Schultz Funeral Home
in 2010, to work alongside his wife Jeannette. Jeannette graduated from the Mortuary
Science Program at Des Moines Area Community College in 2011 and received her training
as an embalmer and funeral director from Doug Schultz.
The husband-and-wife team purchased
the funeral homes from Doug and Pat Schultz in 2022 and are proud to carry on
the tradition of excellence they garnered from years of experience working with
Doug and Pat and serving this community.

Retired Owners
Doug and Pat Schultz
purchased the former Kelly Funeral Home in Grand Mound in 1975, and the former
McGinnis Funeral Home in DeWitt in 1981.
In 2022 they sold the funeral
homes to Jeannette and JJ Erickson, who have worked with them since 2010. The
couple are happy to know that Schultz Funeral Homes are in good hands so they can
enjoy their retirement.

Rhonda is our Preneed Counselor, and is a true asset and trusted advisor for the families served by Schultz Funeral Homes. Her personal mission is to help everyone plan ahead, assisting as you and your loved ones create individualized prearrangements of your own final wishes.
Rhonda is an expert at listening to life stories and connecting with your ideas. She can help anyone plan ahead for a celebration that reflects your own story.
Rhonda always takes the time to be sure that families understand every
detail.

Monica
Wakeland is an invaluable member of our team, serving as a Funeral Assistant and Certified Crematory Operator. Her dedication to serving each family that comes through
the doors at Schultz Funeral home is evident in her empathetic welcome that
aims to make everyone feel supported.
Monica
holds a cherished place as a long-standing family friend of JJ and Jeannette
Erickson. Building upon the nurturing family atmosphere cultivated at Schultz,
she is committed to providing compassionate support to all who are in our care.
Funeral Assistant, Certified Crematory Operator, and Mortuary Science Student
Dakota
Walker joins Schultz Funeral Homes as the newest member, currently pursuing her
Mortuary Science Degree at Des Moines Area Community College. Alongside
industry veterans JJ and Jeannette Erickson, Dakota is training as an embalmer
and funeral director.
Prior to her position at Schultz Funeral
Homes, Dakota served in the United States Navy, where she honed her dedication
to service and commitment to excellence. Following an Honorable Discharge, she
furthered her education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
Combining her military background with her
academic pursuits, Dakota brings a unique perspective to her role. She is sensitive
to the intricacies of families' needs and demonstrates a resolute determination
to ensure every family she serves feels seen, heard, and cared for.
